Her directorial portfolio is extensive, with notable productions including Gertrude Stein and a Companion and the world premiere of Absence Makes the Heart…. A significant highlight of her career was co-writing and producing the critically acclaimed one-woman show Before I Disappear alongside Alexandra Billings, which toured the United States.

In 2018, Chrisanne Blankenship and Alexandra Billings co-founded Schmengie, Inc., a production company with a clear and powerful mission: to create projects centered on diversity, inclusion, and authentic storytelling.

These include an LGBTQ+-inspired commercial for Sylvania, the first-ever live Zoom Pride Parade in 2020, and executive producing films like When We Arrive As Flowers and Queen Tut.
